Mr. Hoffmann started his career in the diamond industry at an early age. After attending the American Institute of Diamond Cutting (AIDC), where he completed the Rough Diamond Grading program as well as diamond cutting and polishing courses, he became an accomplished diamond cutter, initially focusing on the import and export of rough diamonds from South America.

He soon became known in the industry as the diamond dealer with some of the best prices and value due to his ability to cut and polish rough diamonds from the mines without the use of middlemen, an accomplishment very few people in the industry can claim. As his business and clientele grew, he also branched out into other gemstones, such as rubies, sapphires, and emeralds, after attending the Graduate Gemology program at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).
